Data Analyst

Data Analyst - Remote - £50k

Location: Remote / Hybrid options available

Salary: Competitive

An established organisation is looking for a Data Analyst to join its data function, supporting the quality, accuracy and ongoing management of important customer and business data.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their data career who enjoys working with data, spotting inconsistencies and taking ownership of data quality. The role combines traditional data analysis with data stewardship, governance and CRM data management, giving you exposure to how data is structured, maintained and used across a large organisation.

The Role

You'll work with data used across multiple business functions, helping ensure information is accurate, complete, secure and fit for purpose.

A significant part of the role will involve data ownership and data quality – understanding how information is structured, identifying issues and making sure appropriate standards are maintained.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing and maintaining large sets of customer, company and relationship data
  • Identifying data quality issues, inconsistencies and duplication
  • Data cleansing, correction and de-duplication
  • Creating and maintaining relationships and hierarchies between different data sets
  • Supporting the ongoing administration and improvement of CRM and related business systems
  • Carrying out data imports, exports and bulk updates
  • Producing reports and dashboards covering data quality, usage, KPIs and trends
  • Identifying opportunities to improve data quality and existing processes
  • Supporting wider data governance, ownership and stewardship activities
  • Maintaining appropriate documentation and data standards
  • Helping users understand and follow good data-management practices
  • Supporting data retention, archiving, cleansing and audit processes

Requirements

You don't necessarily need years of commercial Data Analyst experience. We're particularly interested in people with strong analytical ability, excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in data quality and data management.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence working with data in Excel and other data-analysis tools
  • An understanding of data quality and why good data governance matters
  • The ability to identify patterns, errors and inconsistencies within data
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work with people across different areas of a business
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of your work
  • An interest in CRM systems, business intelligence and data analytics

Experience with SQL would be beneficial but isn't essential.

Previous experience working within a larger or professional-services environment would also be useful, although we're open to candidates from other sectors.
