Position Overview : We're working with a growing technology business that's expanding its engineering team and looking to bring in an experienced full-stack engineer. The role spans both the backend service layer and the customer-facing web platform, so you'd be splitting your time between the microservices that power the products and the features users actually touch. It suits someone who prefers owning work end to end rather than sitting in one lane.

Responsibilities :

• Building and running backend microservices in Node.js and NestJS with TypeScript, exposing both GraphQL and REST interfaces.
• Front-end development on the web platform — React and Next.js, TypeScript throughout, consuming the GraphQL layer.
• Keeping production healthy: dashboards, alerting and on-call incident response using modern observability tooling.
• Defining and managing cloud infrastructure as code, and working with the containerised deployment setup.
• Owning the database layer — schema design, query performance, indexing.
• Profiling and tuning for performance and scale as traffic grows.
• Assessing technical feasibility of new product ideas before they reach the roadmap.
• Reviewing colleagues' code properly, and writing code that's straightforward to review in return.
• Working with people outside engineering — product, design, commercial — and raising blockers with the engineering lead early.

Requirements :

• Solid commercial experience with Node.js and NestJS.
• Strong TypeScript, plus a proper grasp of front-end fundamentals — HTML, CSS, browser behaviour.
• Real depth in React, including how it works under the hood, and hands-on Next.js.
• Experience building and consuming GraphQL APIs.
• Practical experience running containerised workloads in a cloud environment.
• Comfortable designing and maintaining NoSQL document databases.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Confident with Git, cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• A habit of writing tests; TDD experience a plus.
• Clear communicator with strong analytical instincts, comfortable owning ambiguous problems.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience earned on the job.
