Guidewire Consultant(Technical)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant – Guidewire ClaimCenter Developer with deep expertise in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain. The role involves leading implementation, upgrade, and application support engagements across on-premise, private cloud, and Guidewire Cloud Platform environments. The consultant will play a critical role in production stability, defect reduction, and client stakeholder management while leading distributed support and delivery teams across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation, upgrade, and AMS support engagements for Guidewire ClaimCenter (v10.x and Cloud versions) across on-premise, GWCP, and private cloud deployments.
  • Provide deep functional expertise in P&C insurance, with strong exposure to personal and/or commercial lines.
  • Act as the primary point of coordination with client stakeholders, ensuring alignment on delivery, priorities, and service levels.
  • Lead and manage L2/L3/L4 support teams distributed across India, the US, and the UK.
  • Effectively manage teams operating across multiple time zones, ensuring timely resolution of production incidents and minimizing defect inflow.
  • Maintain near 24x7 availability of production and non-production environments, consistently exceeding agreed SLAs.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify systemic issues, defect trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Define, socialize, and execute corrective and preventive action plans to reduce defect recurrence.
  • Enhance application logging and observability standards across Guidewire services to improve MTTR, proactive alerting, and anomaly detection.
  • Design, manage, and maintain centralized monitoring and observability dashboards for real-time application health tracking.
  • Enforce Guidewire best practices, architectural standards, and SurePath methodology across delivery and support activities.

Experience Requirements

  • Total Guidewire Experience: 8+ years
  • Guidewire ClaimCenter Experience: Minimum 5+ years
  • Certifications: Mandatory – Guidewire Certified Developer (ACE certification preferred)

Mandatory Skills & Competencies

Insurance Domain Expertise

  • Strong experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain.
  • In-depth understanding of policy, claims, and billing lifecycles and their transactions within Guidewire ecosystems.

Guidewire Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire xCenters (v10.x and Cloud versions).
  • Working knowledge of other Guidewire centers and Integration Gateway.
  • Proven experience implementing GUnit automation frameworks for business rule validation.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Guidewire-recommended best practices and SurePath methodology.

Configuration Expertise

  • Experience with batch processing, Guidewire Messaging Framework, and OOTB plugins.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and deployment architectures (WMB, WAS, Apache).
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design within the Guidewire ecosystem.
  • Experience enforcing the testing pyramid, including:
  • Unit testing (GUnit)
  • API and integration testing
  • Targeted UI regression testing
  • Proven experience implementing automated regression testing to reduce release risk and cycle time.
  • Strong proficiency in Gosu, Core Java, and SQL.
  • Ability to work with multiple database technologies and write complex SQL queries for analysis and troubleshooting.

SDLC & Delivery Management

  • Experience implementing structured SDLC with CI/CD controls.
  • Hands-on experience in implementation and AMS programs.
  • Strong skills in defect triaging, estimation, application enhancements, and stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage senior client stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Git, Jira, and ServiceNow.

Additional Skills (Good to Have)

  • Experience with Informatica or other enterprise data integration tools.
