I am seeking a CPU Verification Engineer to join a global industry leader at their largest UK site, based in Cambridge. You will become part of a renowned engineering team working on cutting-edge products, including high-performance CPUs and GPUs, ultra-low-power IoT devices, and next-generation wearables.

As a CPU Verification Engineer, you will collaborate closely with chip architects to validate CPU and SoC micro-architecture concepts. You will own specific areas of CPU design verification, ensuring each feature meets the highest standards and is ready for final product integration.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CPU and SoC architects to understand architectural concepts and system-level requirements
  • Develop detailed test and coverage plans based on architecture and micro-architecture specifications
  • Define scalable and portable verification methodologies across environments
  • Build verification environments, including stimulus generators, checkers, assertions, trackers, and coverage models
  • Create verification plans and testbenches for assigned functional domains
  • Execute verification plans, supporting design bring-up, DV environment bring-up, feature regressions, and debugging of failures

Experience & skills

  • Strong understanding of microprocessor verification and processor architectures
  • Experience with Random Instruction Sequencing (RIS) and verifying designs at block/unit and subsystem/chip levels
  • Proven experience leading small teams of verification engineers on CPU verification projects
  • Deep knowledge of processor functions, architectures, and micro-architectures
  • Skilled in developing test plans, portable testbenches, transactors, and assembly-level tests
