FPGA Engineer
IC Resources is excited to be supporting a pioneering deep-tech company in Bristol, developing next-generation inertial sensing technology that merges MEMS, photonics, and advanced digital design.
As an FPGA Engineer, you’ll play a hands-on role in building high-performance sensor systems from first principles. The FPGA Engineer will work across the full digital design lifecycle—from RTL architecture to real-time implementation, lab validation, and system-level integration. You’ll collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and firmware engineers to deliver FPGA solutions that are ASIC-ready and built for precision.
This is an ideal role for an FPGA Engineer who thrives on problem-solving at the signal level and wants to be part of a team transforming aerospace-grade sensing for commercial markets.
Key skills of the FPGA Engineer:
- Experience in FPGA design and system integration (Xilinx/Zynq preferred)
- Proficient in RTL design (Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL)
- Strong experience with Vivado and SoC development flows
- Background in designing and tuning real-time control loops (PLLs, PI, etc.)
- Comfortable debugging in the lab with ILA, scopes, and logic analyzers
- Experience working with AXI interfaces, state machines, and digital feedback systems
- Familiarity with ASIC design principles and writing ASIC-portable RTL is a bonus
