FPGA Engineer
FPGA Engineer – London
A high-performance technology-driven company is building out a brand-new FPGA team in London to develop cutting-edge, latency-sensitive platforms that underpin critical real-time decision-making. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, high-impact team with end-to-end ownership of design, optimisation, and architecture on large, complex FPGA systems.
As an FPGA Engineer, you'll work on high-throughput, resource-efficient designs involving PCIe, high-speed serial interfaces, and external memory—balancing power, area, and timing in performance-critical environments. You'll collaborate with software and ASIC teams and play a key role in defining design methodologies and long-term roadmaps.
Key Experience Required

Key Experience Required
- Strong proficiency in Verilog or SystemVerilog with an RTL-first mindset
- Deep understanding of FPGA architecture, synthesis, and timing optimisation
- Experience with high-speed serial interfaces (e.g., Ethernet, Fibre Channel, USB 3.1)
- Familiarity with simulation and verification using tools like Cocotb and Verilator
- Ability to design hardware with a clear awareness of physical implementation constraints
- Background in low-latency or trading-related systems
- Experience with formal verification and working in mixed software/hardware teams
