Principal Embedded Software Engineer

This growing technology business is developing next-generation edge platforms for the transport sector, combining embedded systems with computer vision to deliver intelligent, real-world solutions at scale. The team are now looking for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to take technical ownership of embedded and edge systems across a range of products moving from development into production.

You’ll play a key role in shaping system architecture, working across embedded Linux platforms, hardware integration and real-world deployments, with the opportunity to influence technical direction and mentor others within the team.

For this Principal Embedded Software Engineer role, we are looking for someone with:

• Strong hands-on experience with Embedded Linux systems
• Experience working close to hardware and electronics
• Any knowledge of edge AI or Computer Vision is advantageous
• Ideally, experience with Yocto, edge/IoT systems or video/vision-based platforms
• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and lead projects
