Technical Operations Manager

The team has recently absorbed a small acquisition, this hire will stabilise and run this business unit, bringing clarity, process, and consistency to production, quality, logistics and support activity. You'll have ownership of a small facility and a portfolio of hardware and software products, with the chance to improve systems, streamline processes, and create a more predictable, reliable operating rhythm.
Hybrid working is available, but you should expect to be on site regularly due to the hands-on nature of the work. Travel may be required occasionally depending on operational need.

Responsibilities Include
- Running the operations for a small, self-contained business function covering production, support and logistics
- Overseeing product assembly, scheduling, component readiness and working closely with suppliers
- Maintaining quality standards, identifying issues early and ensuring corrective actions are followed through
- Managing logistics and shipments across a global customer base
- Partnering with support teams to ensure service tickets are handled efficiently and customers receive timely updates
- Bringing structure to processes, documentation, and handover activity as the business evolves
- Working closely with the CEO and CTO to translate goals into actionable, repeatable operational plans
- Supporting installation and deployment activity when required
- Ensuring stability and continuity during a senior leadership transition
- Background in operations, production or technical delivery within a hardware or electronics-based environment
- Experience working across hardware and software workflows, ideally where products are assembled, tested and shipped in small batches
- The ability to step into unclear situations, bring order, and build processes that others can follow
- Comfortable managing suppliers, logistics, and day-to-day operational decision-making
- A practical, problem-solving mindset with willingness to get into the detail
- Strong communication and the confidence to influence cross-functional teams
- Someone local to the South East or commutable — the role requires consistent on-site presence
