We're looking for a User Researcher to join our team in Milton Keynes on a permanent basis. This role offers a salary of £35,000 - £42,000 and a hybrid working pattern of 2 days in the office.

To design and deliver user research that uncovers the needs, behaviours, pain points, and expectations of ICAEW members, students, and staff. The User Researcher works closely with UX/UI Designers, Product Owners, and Delivery teams to ensure that user insights inform the design and development of ICAEW's digital products. They help validate ideas, reduce risk, and increase the usability and relevance of digital services. 

What you will be doing;

  • Design and execute user research activities across the product lifecycle-discovery, alpha, beta, and live. 
  • Select and apply appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods, such as interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies, card sorting, or A/B testing. 
  • Analyse research data to identify patterns, behaviours, and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Advocate for the voice of the user in design and delivery discussions. 
  • Conduct usability testing on prototypes and live services, identifying pain points and areas for refinement. 
  • Ensure research is inclusive and accessible, representing diverse users and perspectives. 

What you will need;

  • Prior experience in user research, service design, UX design, or product discovery roles. 
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research across digital channels (web, mobile, portals, apps) in Agile or iterative environments. 
  • Proven track record of influencing digital product decisions through research findings. 
  • Research planning and execution: Confident designing and conducting mixed-method research studies. 
  • Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Social Sciences, Design, or a related discipline is desirable.
