Insurance Broker - IT Support

Recruiting on behalf of our client an Insurance Broker We are working with a small, friendly organisation of around 25+ staff to recruit an IT Support Assistant who will provide hands-on support across the business. This role offers the chance to work closely with the IT Manager and Operations Director, delivering personalised, 1-to-1 IT support rather than working in a high-volume ticketing environment.This position is perfect for someone with IT support experience, or a recent IT graduate who is keen to grow in a varied and supportive setting.

Location
  • Office based near Liverpool Street Station, London
  • 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home

Key Responsibilities

Working directly with team members across the business, you will assist with: 1st Line Support & IT Operations

  • Providing 1-to-1 support in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Supporting Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2019+
  • Maintaining Windows updates
  • O365 and Azure Cloud Services support
  • Azure AD administration
  • Basic network support (switches, WiFi mesh)
  • Printer support (Canon) and PaperCut management
  • Monitoring backups via Veeam (Backup & Replication)
  • Basic firewall support (Cisco preferable)
  • Cybersecurity checks and ensuring Cyber Essentials compliance
  • Auditing shared drives and permissions
  • SQL Server support (SSRS beneficial)
  • Telephony support (BT One Phone advantageous)

Daily Tasks

  • Verify overnight backups and routines
  • Monitor server and firewall status
  • Ensure internet connectivity and network resilience
  • Support users with day-to-day IT queries

Other Regular Tasks

  • System maintenance
  • Running reports
  • Enforcing password policy
  • Maintaining hardware and peripheral equipment

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in IT support OR recent IT/computer science graduate
  • Strong communication skills with a personable, customer-focused approach
  • Comfortable working directly with users rather than just through a helpdesk
  • Interest in learning new technologies and developing professionally
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and maintain accuracy and reliability
  • Proactive, positive attitude
