About the Role

The Commercial Manager is accountable for driving new business growth, owning revenue outcomes, and leading the commercial “hunt” across public and independent healthcare markets.

This role owns the end‐to‐end commercial lifecycle—from opportunity generation and bid strategy through negotiation and contract execution—ensuring the business consistently converts market opportunity into sustainable, profitable growth.

Main responsibilities and deliverables

Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Define and execute commercial strategy to deliver new business revenue, pipeline growth, and margin targets
  • Drive sales effectiveness to improve win rates, deal size, and speed to close
  • Own commercial performance, including pipeline, bookings, and margin, with clear KPI reporting
  • Contribute to financial planning, target setting, and budget control

New Business, Customers & Market Development

  • Lead new customer acquisition, owning opportunities end-to-end through to contract signature
  • Grow existing accounts through retention, expansion, and long-term partnerships
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships to accelerate market access and deal success
  • Develop senior stakeholder relationships to influence buying decisions and shape outcomes

Commercial Execution, Bids & Governance

  • Lead complex bids end-to-end, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and differentiated submissions
  • Act as lead negotiator for contracts, securing commercially sound outcomes
  • Orchestrate cross-functional teams (BD, Marketing, Account Management, Bids) to win priority opportunities
  • Ensure strong commercial governance, risk management, and contract compliance
  • Provide market and customer insight to shape propositions and positioning

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams across the commercial functions.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Support recruitment and succession planning to strengthen the commercial function.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven track record of delivering new business growth and consistently hitting revenue and pipeline targets in complex B2B or digital healthcare environments.
  • Passionate, enthusiastic and driven, with a natural energy for hunting opportunities, opening doors and winning deals.
  • Strong commercial judgement and deal‐shaping capability, able to navigate long sales cycles and multi‐stakeholder buying decisions.
  • A value‐led seller who can articulate outcomes, build compelling business cases and move customers beyond price‐based decisions.
  • Confident, credible and influential with senior executives, clinical leaders and procurement stakeholders.
  • Highly accountable and resilient, with a results‐first mindset and a clear ownership mentality for growth outcomes.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, commerce or international business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience selling digital healthcare solutions (e.g. EPR, PAS, clinical systems or healthcare platforms) into public sector and/or independent healthcare providers.
  • Exposure to AI‐enabled or data‐driven products, with the ability to commercialise innovation through outcome‐led propositions rather than features.
