Location: Cheltenham (hybrid working)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum + benefits

Our client, a leading IT support and managed services provider, is recruiting a 3rd Line Technical Lead to join their business at a pivotal stage of growth. This is a senior position and will be one of the first technical hires in a newly opened Cheltenham office, launched as part of a wider expansion strategy through 2026.
This role will play a key part in establishing and shaping the new office, while also acting as a long-term technical stakeholder within the wider business. The organisation delivers managed IT support, Microsoft cloud solutions, cybersecurity, networking and infrastructure services to a growing client base, and this role will have genuine influence over future technical and service direction.
What you’ll do
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex 3rd line issues
- Lead the design, implementation and support of client IT environments
- Take ownership of high-impact incidents and long-term problem management
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to 1st and 2nd line engineers
- Support and evolve Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, networking and security solutions
- Play a key role in the setup and technical direction of the new Cheltenham office
- Contribute to technical standards, documentation and continual service improvement
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, engineers and leadership teams, helping ensure technology decisions align with both immediate delivery needs and long-term company strategy.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in a senior or 3rd line IT support role
- Strong technical expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server
- Solid networking knowledge (firewalls, switching, routing, Wi-Fi)
- Experience with security tooling, backup solutions and endpoint management
- Confidence operating as a senior technical authority in a growing business
