Contract Type: 12-month fixed-term contract, with a view to permanent
Salary: Up to £54,500
We’re working with a local authority that’s committed to delivering its digital strategy and transforming how services are provided to residents. They’re looking for a Digital Programme Manager to lead this change, shaping and embedding a programme that will continue beyond the initial contract.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Driving delivery of the council’s digital strategy, ensuring projects deliver measurable outcomes.
- Building and managing a transformation programme with clear governance, reporting, and assurance.
- Leading multiple workstreams across technology, processes, and cultural change.
- Engaging senior stakeholders, including directors, heads of service, and elected members.
- Managing risks, dependencies, and benefits realisation across the programme.
Experience Required
- Significant experience as a Programme Manager in digital transformation.
- Proven ability to set up and deliver large programmes, ideally within local government or public sector.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at senior level.
- Understanding of agile delivery, user-centred design, and digital service standards.
- Awareness of the financial and operational challenges facing local authorities.
