IT Support Technician (Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Gloucester (Office-Based)
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract (2–3 Months)
Day Rate: £200 per day (Inside IR35)
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a well-established organisation, is looking for an IT Support Technician to join their IT team on a short-term fixed-term contract to support a number of business-critical projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT support professional with strong Microsoft administration skills to join a busy and collaborative environment. You'll play a key role in supporting user administration, Microsoft 365 services and project-based IT activities during an important period of change.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a structured environment, has excellent attention to detail and can quickly become productive with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, modify and remove user accounts within Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Administer Microsoft 365 user accounts and licensing
- Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, shared mailboxes and distribution groups
- Maintain mailbox permissions and user access controls
- Support the delivery of IT projects and business change initiatives
- Ensure IT administration tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
- Maintain and update technical documentation
- Follow established IT processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
Skills & Experience:
Essential
- Previous experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Experience managing user accounts, groups and permissions
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience supporting Exchange Online environments
- Familiarity with shared mailboxes, distribution lists and mailbox permissions
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Previous involvement in IT project work
- Experience supporting users within a multi-site environment
- Understanding of retail or customer-focused business operations
