Up to £125,000 + 20% Bonus | Remote (Monthly Cardiff Office & Client Travel)

We’re partnered with an IT Consultancy looking to appoint a Principal AWS Architect to lead and grow their cloud practice. This role blends hands-on AWS engineering with leadership, giving you the platform to shape a growing capability while staying close to delivery.

The Role:

• Define and build the AWS practice, setting technical direction and delivery standards
• Stay hands-on with design and build, including Terraform (IaC), Lambda, Step Functions, and Bedrock integrations
• Deliver cloud transformation programmes for enterprise clients, acting as a trusted advisor
• Mentor and develop engineers and architects, fostering a high-performance team
• Combine strategic leadership with technical authority to drive the consultancy’s AWS growth

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven background as an AWS Architect at Principal/Lead level
• Strong hands-on expertise in AWS: Terraform, Lambda, Step Functions, Bedrock
• Experience delivering large-scale cloud solutions and transformations
• Ability to balance hands-on work with building and guiding a practice
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills to influence senior stakeholders

The Package:

• Salary up to £125,000
• 20% bonus
• Remote role with monthly visits to Cardiff office and travel to customer sites as needed
