24/7 Support Engineer

IT Support Engineer – 24/7 Support Our long-standing client, who provides IT consultancy services to a variety of industries across the UK are hiring a IT Support Engineer to provide 24/7 support for one week per month, operating on a shift basis of 4 days on, 4 days off (day shifts are hybrid).Our client requires the Support Engineer to have strong capabilites in Microsoft 365, AD, Exchange and Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPs etc) with preferably a background in Consultancy, MSP or Enterprise Environment. They are offering a basic salary up to £40,000 to be based in Sittingbourne, on a hybrid basis during day shifts and onsite during night shifts. You must be able to drive for this position. Our client offers fantastic training and an access to the latest training & certifications within their field. Core responsibilities:
  1. Resolve escalated technical issues across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and applications
  2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and implement configuration changes across customer environments
  3. Manage incidents in line with SLAs, KPIs, and best practice
  4. Communicate clearly with customers, managing expectations and providing updates
  5. Maintain accurate ticketing, documentation, and knowledge base articles
  6. Identify recurring issues and contribute to service and process improvements
  7. Support projects alongside senior engineers and solutions teams
  8. Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and security activities
  9. Work with vendors and third parties on escalations and advanced fixes
Key technical experience:
  • Minimum of two years’ experience within a 2nd / 3rd Line Support position
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment, MSP/Consultancy or Enterprise client.
  • Microsoft technologies (Windows, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory)
  • Virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, routing & switching)
  • Hardware, backup, cybersecurity, monitoring, and automation tools
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, CCNA, CompTIA, etc.) are a plus
  • Must have able to drive, with access to vehicle.
