Cloud Architect
Cloud Architect Our longstanding trusted client that owns & operates its own infrastructure is hiring a hands-on Cloud Architect on a permanent basis who has proven ability leading the design and implementation strategies from an hyperscale on-premises DC environment into modern cloud technologies (AWS & Azure). Our client is looking to pay a basic salary between £80,000 to £90,000 + benefits to be based at our client’s site in the hear of Kent on a hybrid basis.This is a unique opportunity, where the chosen Cloud Architect will be given the opportunity to spearhead the evolutions of a new platform, increase the cloud revenue stream for the business and be presented with career growth as the business continues to grow & develop.Key Responsibilities:
- Private Cloud Ownership: Ensure the ongoing performance, scalability, and high availability of the company’s proprietary private cloud platform built on Hyper-V and VMware technologies.
- Strategic Cloud Development: Lead the design and implementation of cloud strategies, including the development of hybrid cloud solutions that seamlessly integrate private cloud infrastructure with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Customer-Facing Solutions: Collaborate closely with sales and technical teams to design compelling cloud solutions that meet customer requirements, leveraging our unique private cloud capabilities.
- Vendor Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key technology vendors to stay ahead of emerging trends, influence roadmaps, and ensure strategic alignment.
- Innovation & Roadmapping: Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the cloud portfolio, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and value-added services.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure cloud architecture adheres to industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in architecting and managing large-scale private cloud environments, particularly with Hyper-V and VMware technologies.
- Solid understanding of public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services), with experience integrating them into hybrid cloud models.
- Strong vendor management skills and a history of productive, strategic relationships with infrastructure and platform vendors.
- Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code principles is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and commercial discussions.
