Desktop Support Engineer – Up to £40,000 – Financial Services – London Overview: A FTSE250 global financial services company, operating in over 60 locations worldwide, is looking for an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join its London IT team.This is a full-time, onsite role based in the London office, five days per week. - Act as a primary contact for desktop-related incidents and service requests, delivering timely triage, investigation, and resolution.
- Keep internal IT documentation and knowledge base materials up to date (minimum quarterly reviews).
- Manage and monitor service desk tickets using best practice workflows, ensuring consistent service delivery.
- Work alongside the Lead IT Operations Administrator to spot patterns, recurring faults, and potential risks, contributing to preventative solutions.
- Support and maintain end-user hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals, as well as assisting with both hardware and software lifecycle management.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional technical issues and communicate updates to users.
- Recommend and help implement improvements to existing support processes to enhance service quality.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory for account and group management.
- Skilled with Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange.
- Solid experience with Windows 10/11 and core Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with MFA solutions (MS MFA, DUO).
- Experience with VMware and HP desktop/laptop hardware.
- Confident in supporting macOS and iOS devices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune and modern remote/collaboration tools (Webex, Zoom, Teams, TeamViewer).
