Programme Director – Security & Technology Transformation – Global Retailer

Overview: We are seeking two experienced Programme Directors to lead critical, large-scale transformation initiatives for a major retail organisation. These programmes are strategically linked and essential to the ongoing development of the company’s security and technology capabilities. The successful candidates will bring a strong track record in delivering enterprise-scale IT and security programmes, balancing hands-on delivery with the ability to provide executive-level assurance.Role & Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary programmes, ensuring successful delivery within agreed scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Implement and mature security controls and enterprise technology foundations, bridging the gap between security requirements and technical delivery teams.
  • Develop programme plans, governance, and reporting mechanisms to provide assurance to senior leadership.
  • Work closely with technology teams to design, implement, and optimise infrastructure, cloud solutions, access management, and networks across multiple sites and geographies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment between security initiatives, technology transformation, and operational requirements.
  • Drive programme risk management, identifying and mitigating issues that could impact delivery or security posture.
  • Mentor and lead programme teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Programme Director or senior programme manager, leading large-scale technology or security transformations.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with security frameworks, controls, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Experience implementing CIS controls or equivalent security standards.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise IT solutions, including cloud, access management, networks, and infrastructure at scale.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to executive stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding cross-functional, multi-location teams.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on, balancing high-level oversight with attention to detail.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, enterprise retail or large-scale operational environment is highly desirable
