Senior Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer (Governance & Assurance)(DevSecOps, Governance & Technical Assurance)Our client, a highly regulated corporation is hiring a Platform Engineer with deep governance and technical assurance experience to play a pivotal role in shaping how a modern, cloud-native platform is built, secured, and operated. This is an exciting challenger, where you will gain opportunities to explore AI/ML governance for safe AI adoption. Our client is offering a basic salary of £95,000 + benefits + to operate on a fully remote basis.You’ll act as a technical authority, setting the standards, guardrails, and governance that underpin secure, resilient, and compliant software delivery in a regulated environment.You’ll work at the intersection of platform engineering, security, and software development, influencing how teams design, deploy, and operate systems at scale.
  • Platform & DevSecOps Governance - Defining and enforcing DevSecOps standards, controls, and best practices
  • Establishing governance for CI/CD pipelines, IaC, dependency management, and patching
  • Ensuring engineering practices meet security, audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Driving consistency, repeatability, and risk reduction across environments
  • Infrastructure & Technical Assurance - Setting governance standards for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep/ARM)
  • Defining deployment, environment, and lifecycle management policies
  • Providing technical oversight and assurance, not just implementation
  • Reviewing and improving existing platform designs and practices
Essential
  • Senior experience as a Platform Engineer, DevSecOps Engineer, or similar
  • Strong background in cloud-native platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Proven experience setting and enforcing technical standards and governance
  • Deep understanding of IaC, CI/CD, security controls, and platform life cycle management
  • Experience working in regulated or high-assurance environments (health care, finance, public sector, etc.)
  • Ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with AI/ML governance or safe AI adoption
