Team Lead - PMO - £55,000 - £70,000 – United Kingdom based – Government Organisation Overview We are seeking a Team Lead – PMO to lead and direct a Programme and Project Delivery team in the design, development, and management of large-scale projects and programmes. This role ensures effective achievement of business objectives through a matrix of internal and external resources and partnerships. You will oversee programme design, delivery, and implementation, managing virtual and dispersed teams to deliver high-quality products and services globally.Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate a clear vision and roadmap for project delivery, aligned with organisational priorities.
- Lead the development and maintenance of Project Delivery Plans to ensure programmes meet objectives, performance standards, and value-for-money targets.
- Negotiate realistic timelines and targets based on market analysis, technical feasibility, and resource needs.
- Ensure projects are structured, staffed, and resourced effectively for successful delivery.
- Provide expert advice on new initiatives, business case development, and programme refresh.
- Implement quality assurance, reporting, and evaluation procedures based on best practice.
- Build and maintain external networks to apply professional best practice and improve project management methodologies.
- Lead resource planning and allocation, ensuring successful delivery of programmes.
- Manage senior relationships internally and externally to support team goals.
- Evaluate operational risks and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing large (£multi-million) projects concurrently for a global organisation.
- Proven experience with multiple project methodologies (Agile, Scrum at Scale, Scaled Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience leading digital/online/technology projects or programmes on a global scale.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- First degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Professional programme management qualification (e.g., MSP Practitioner, PMI, MPA).
