Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll learn how electrical control panels are designed, assembled, wired, tested and commissioned for industrial applications.
Role
As an Electrical Engineer Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and learn how to build and test electrical control panels used in a wide range of industries.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Building electrical control panels
- Wiring electrical components using engineering drawings
- Learning how to read electrical schematics and diagrams
- Using hand and power tools safely
- Testing completed control panels to make sure they work correctly
- Helping to identify and fix faults
- Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe
- Working as part of the engineering team on a variety of projects
- Following company quality and health & safety procedures
- Developing your skills through practical work and your apprenticeship training
- As your experience grows, you’ll take on more responsibility and learn more advanced aspects of electrical engineering and industrial automation
Training
Engineering Maintenance Technician - single discipline - Level 3.
The apprentice will receive the majority of their training in the workplace, learning from experienced machine operators and supervisors. They will also complete off-the-job training as part of their apprenticeship programme, delivered by the training provider through a combination of workplace learning and scheduled online training sessions. Regular reviews will be held to monitor progress and support the apprentice throughout their programme.
