We are looking for a talented Data Solution Engineer to join a growing team delivering data-intensive solutions for Defence and Public Sector clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role focused on designing, building, and integrating resilient data pipelines and platforms that support real operational needs.

The successful candidate will work across the full delivery life cycle, from early-stage requirements capture and solution design through to system integration, deployment, and operational support. You will also help shape future capability by identifying opportunities for innovation, supporting the use of COTS components, and contributing to the development of new IP.

Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver data solutions for Defence and Public Sector customers.

Build robust data pipelines and platforms in cloud environments.

Support requirements capture, technical discovery, and solution development.

Create architectural views for data software and analytics solutions.

Work with structured and unstructured data, selecting the right approach for each use case.

Contribute to system integration, deployment, and capability operation.

Support pre-sales activity where required, including customer engagement and solution shaping.

Communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, driving technology choices and delivery outcomes.

Required Experience
Experience designing, implementing, and integrating data solutions in a UK Defence or Public Sector context.

Strong experience building data pipelines in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Hands-on experience with data ingest, transformation, and persistence technologies.

Good understanding of how resilient data pipelines are built and maintained.

Familiarity with structured and unstructured data, including schemas, ontologies, taxonomies, and representation challenges.

Experience using CI/CD practices and the quality controls that support reliable deployment.

Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience.

Desirable Experience
Knowledge of Defence data schemas and exchange specifications.

Understanding of secure-by-design principles for data at rest and in transit.

Knowledge of data transport in DDIL or constrained environments.

Awareness of how data solutions support AI/ML use cases.

Scrum Master or Product Owner experience.

Understanding of commercial or contractual frameworks.
