SC Cleared Contract Lead Developer / Team Lead

Role: SC Cleared Lead Developer / Team Lead (Contract)
Location: Remote (UK-based only)
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
Rate: £600-£625/day (Outside IR35)
Contract Length: Until end of March 2026

We are looking for a hands-on Team Lead to oversee a small team of experienced developers on a greenfield project within a central government department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building from the ground up, thrives in ambiguity, and can blend strong technical delivery with effective stakeholder engagement.

Essential Skills

• Extensive experience in backend development using Java and/or Kotlin (non-Android)
• Strong familiarity with TypeScript
• Comfortable working with Spring Boot, AWS, Docker, Terraform, or Kubernetes
• Confident technical leadership within agile or cross-functional teams in the public sector
• Stakeholder-facing: able to communicate clearly and influence delivery decisions
• Strong decision-making skills: confident leading a greenfield build
• Experience with Git-based workflows and DevOps principles
