Salary: £70,000 - £85,000
Location: London or Manchester - mostly remote
Clearance: SC Cleared or Eligible
We're looking for experienced Senior Consultants to join a growing User-Centred Design capability, supporting the delivery of complex digital services across Government and Defence.
We're hiring across several UCD specialisms, including:
- Interaction Design/UX Design
- User Research
- Content Design
You'll work within multidisciplinary agile teams, collaborating with users, engineers, architects, product and delivery professionals to create accessible, intuitive and effective digital services.
What You'll Be Doing
- Understanding user needs and translating them into effective digital services and experiences.
- Planning and conducting user research, testing and validation.
- Designing user journeys, workflows, interactions and prototypes.
- Creating clear, accessible and user-focused content.
- Analysing research and user feedback to identify insights and opportunities.
- Iterating and improving services based on evidence and user needs.
- Championing user-centred and inclusive design throughout delivery.
- Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contributing to UCD standards, capability and best practice.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience within Interaction Design, UX, User Research or Content Design.
- Experience working within agile, multidisciplinary digital delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design and accessibility.
- Experience simplifying complex problems and making services easier to understand and navigate.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Government, Defence or wider public-sector experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with GOV.UK design principles, the Service Standard and government design patterns would be beneficial.
- SC clearance or eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
