The Role

The Data Reporting Manager plays a central role in promoting, embedding and maintaining strong data standards across the business. The position focuses on data governance, data quality and reporting, ensuring that key operational data sets are well governed, trusted and fit for purpose.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, the role supports the delivery of data strategy objectives aligned to wider business priorities and operates at the intersection of operations, technology and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting and clearly communicating the value of data standards and data governance across the business
  • Defining and delivering data governance activities aligned to operational and strategic objectives
  • Tracking, monitoring and reporting on compliance with agreed data standards
  • Driving the use of automated data quality tools to support the management of data risk
  • Ensuring operational activities align to data governance objectives and standards
  • Working with data owners to understand, report on and address the root causes of data quality issues
  • Building a strong culture of data ownership and accountability across teams
  • Advising on data governance best practice and ensuring alignment with operational and IT strategies
  • Operating in line with regulatory, conduct and financial crime requirements
  • Championing inclusive working practices and company values

Technical Profile

  • Strong knowledge of data quality management and data governance frameworks
  • Experience using data governance or data quality tools
  • Advanced data manipulation skills, including confident use of formulae
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
  • Advanced Excel capability and strong proficiency across Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience working with complex operational datasets (experience within insurance or financial services is desirable but not essential)
