Overview:
I'm partnering with an established legal technology provider that is continuing to scale its product engineering function. They are looking to appoint a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in building, enhancing and maintaining their core SaaS platform, which is used by some of the UK's largest legal and professional services firms.
This is a hands-on position within a highly collaborative engineering team, offering the chance to shape technical decision-making, influence product direction and work across modern technologies that drive real operational improvement for end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions for a large-scale SaaS platform used across the legal sector.
- Work closely with Product, QA and DevOps teams to deliver new features, integrations and enhancements in line with the product roadmap.
- Contribute to architectural discussions, helping to evolve the platform's scalability, performance and security.
- Take ownership of complex technical problems, breaking them down and delivering robust, well-tested code.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to mid-level developers, promoting best practice across the engineering team.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, maintain clear documentation, and ensure all engineering work aligns with coding standards and technical guidelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer working in a product-led or SaaS environment.
- Strong skills in C# .NET (Core or later), SQL, and modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.
- Experience building scalable, secure, cloud-hosted applications (AWS or Azure).
- Solid understanding of modern engineering principles, including CI/CD, automated testing and clean coding practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving Agile environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Experience in the legal tech, compliance or professional services sector is a bonus, but not essential.
