Software Engineer - AI / Computer Vision
IRIS Automation Ltd is looking for a software engineer with extensive expertise on AI / Computer Vision to support the delivery of advanced AI systems for industrial and enterprise environments. The role will involve supporting our work on computer vision systems for manufacturing fault detection, as well as contributing to our wider AI innovation activities, including multimodal AI, agentic AI systems, visual-language analysis and RAG-supported workflows.
The successful candidate will work across practical AI development, dataset preparation, model training and testing, system integration, deployment, validation, and technical documentation. This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who can help move AI solutions from development into real industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the development and integration of computer vision systems for industrial inspection and fault detection.
· Prepare image/video datasets, support annotation workflows, and assist with model training and validation.
· Develop and test AI models for object detection, classification, segmentation, anomaly detection, and visual inspection.
· Support camera setup, calibration, edge/industrial PC deployment, and system troubleshooting.
· Assist with multimodal AI workflows, including the integration of computer vision outputs with LLM-based reporting and analysis.
· Support performance testing, accuracy evaluation, latency benchmarking, robustness testing, and validation reporting.
· Prepare technical documentation, deployment notes, testing reports, and handover material.
Technical Skills
· Programming: Python, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript basic integration support
· AI/ML Frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, Scikit-learn
· Computer Vision: Object detection, image classification, segmentation, anomaly detection, feature extraction, visual inspection
· Models: CNNs, YOLO-style detectors, segmentation models, transformer-based vision models, visual-language models
· LLM / Agentic AI Support: RAG workflows, prompt pipelines, multimodal AI integration, LLM-assisted reporting
· Deployment: Docker, Linux, GPU-based inference, edge/industrial PC deployment, local server deployment
· Data: SQL/PostgreSQL, structured data processing, image/video datasets, annotation workflows
Education & Experience
· A BSc, MSc, or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
· Over 3 years’ experience in practical programming experience.
