AV Engineer

What you'll work on

As a AV Engineer at ISDM, you'll join our in-house engineering team at entry level, supporting the installation and commissioning of bespoke AV and VC solutions across our UK and global customer base. You'll work on live projects and support activities, gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading technologies while developing your technical and on-site skills.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in AV engineering, who is enthusiastic, quality-focused, and comfortable working on customer sites. Global travel and a full, clean driving licence are essential parts of the role.

You'll act as an ambassador for ISDM, representing our commitment to quality, professionalism, and customer experience in everything you do.

Day to day

  • Support the installation and commissioning of AV systems using technologies such as AMX, Crestron, BiAmp and Extron
  • Carry out structured cabling tasks, including pulling, terminating, soldering and testing AV cabling
  • Assist with rack building, pre-wire, and system build activities
  • Install AV hardware including displays, projectors, LED screens, video walls and audio equipment
  • Support the installation of VC/UC systems (e.g. Zoom, Poly, Cisco) in meeting room environments
  • Carry out troubleshooting and fault-finding on AV systems
  • Follow system diagrams, build plans, and schematics accurately
  • Conduct Quality Assurance checks on installations and complete any follow-up actions
  • Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach on-site at all times
  • Support and coordinate with external engineers where required
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers and Technical Operations teams
  • Escalate issues, risks or queries appropriately
  • Capture and share customer feedback with the wider operations and leadership teams
  • Attend project, service and technical meetings as required
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement across engineering and delivery
  • Ensure all work meets ISDM quality standards and agreed timelines
  • Adhere to ISDM operating principles and represent the brand positively on all sites

Your qualifications & experience

  • Demonstrable interest in engineering, AV, or electrical work (qualification or hands-on experience)
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, schematics and build plans
  • Basic understanding of AV systems, cabling, or installations (training will be provided)
  • Experience or awareness of AV hardware installations (desirable, not essential)
  • Understanding of health & safety on site
  • ECS / SSSTS certification (desirable, or willingness to work towards)
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
