OverviewI'm working with a growing, engineering-led organisation in Surrey looking for an experienced IT Applications Specialist. This role sits at the intersection of IT and engineering, with a focus on supporting and improving CAD, PDM, and PLM systems critical to product development and manufacturing.

This is a hands-on role managing technical applications, software licensing, and system upgrades, as well as improving automation and system reliability across hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and administer CAD, PLM, and PDM systems

• Manage and optimise software licensing, usage tracking, and renewals

• Apply server patches, monitor application performance, and ensure system security

• Automate and streamline processes using PowerShell, Bash, or similar Scripting tools

• Support hybrid environments, including Azure services

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve tooling, documentation, and user support

Technical Environment

• CAD/PLM tools: SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar

• Microsoft Azure (IaaS, Active Directory, Conditional Access)

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365

• PowerShell and/or Bash Scripting

• Exposure to patching and licensing management systems

Candidate Profile

• Background in IT application support or infrastructure within an engineering or manufacturing environment

• Experience supporting CAD tools or other technical engineering systems

• Comfortable working across cloud and on-prem infrastructure

• Proficient in Scripting and task automation

• Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable engaging with technical stakeholders
