We're recruiting on behalf of a progressive and ambitious firm seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead and develop its IT function.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the firm's technology, infrastructure, and security remain reliable, compliant, and aligned with business goals. You'll oversee day-to-day IT operations, manage a small team, and play a key role in delivering technology improvements that support the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities
As IT Operations Manager, you will:
- Manage and maintain the firm's network, infrastructure, and hybrid server environment.
- Ensure IT systems continue to meet current and future business needs.
- Oversee IT budgets, forecasting, and cost management.
- Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and risk management processes.
- Implement and maintain effective cyber security, network security, and data protection measures.
- Maintain the firm's Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) accreditation.
- Provide and oversee 2nd and 3rd line technical support across hardware, software, operating systems, telephony, and printing services.
- Manage Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Produce and oversee reporting, data analysis, and business insights using audit logs, SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
- Maintain and enhance the firm's Practice Management System (PMS), including workflows, forms, and documentation.
- Manage 3CX telephony and mobile communication systems.
- Lead, mentor, and support a small IT team of two.
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, renewals, and procurement.
- Develop and maintain hardware life cycle and replacement plans.
- Deliver internal IT training, including cyber security, AML, and PMS training.
- Review and maintain IT policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate software, hardware, and licensing records.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the business to support operational and strategic objectives.
About You
You'll have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
You will be comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on, balancing long-term improvements with day-to-day operational support.
Experience within a legal or professional services environment would be highly advantageous, as would experience with the Partner for Windows (P4W) case management system.
You must also have proven experience managing and preparing organisations for Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) audits.

- Third-party supplier and contract management
- IT Service Management (ITSM)
- Strong cyber security knowledge and best practice
