About the Role
On behalf of a forward-thinking law firm, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive IT Operations Manager to lead and develop the organisation's IT function. This is a key, hands-on leadership role, responsible for ensuring systems, infrastructure, and security are robust, compliant, and aligned with strategic business objectives.
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of IT operations, manage a small team, and play a central role in driving efficiencies, supporting colleagues, and implementing secure, future-focused technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
The IT Operations Manager will:
- Oversee daily operations of the firm's network and hybrid server infrastructure
- Ensure IT systems meet current and future business requirements
- Manage IT budgets, forecasting, and cost-efficiency across the function
- Lead IT risk management, disaster recovery, and backup processes
- Implement and maintain network, data, and communications security
- Maintain Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) accreditation
- Provide second and third-line support across hardware, OS, software, telephony, and printing
- Manage Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
- Oversee reporting and data insights (including audit logs, SQL, Excel, and Power BI)
- Maintain and enhance the firm's Practice Management System (PMS), including workflows, forms, and documentation
- Manage telephony systems (3CX) and mobile communication platforms
- Lead, mentor, and support two members of the IT team
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and procurement planning
- Develop and maintain hardware life cycle planning (3-5 years)
- Deliver and manage internal IT-related training (including PMS, AML, and cyber security)
- Review, update, and enforce IT policies in line with legal and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate hardware, software, and licensing audits
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support business objectives
About You
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background combined with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach. They will be confident operating both strategically and operationally, with the ability to drive improvements while ensuring day-to-day stability.
Experience within a legal or professional services environment would be highly beneficial. Familiarity with the Partner for Windows (P4W) case management system is advantageous.
Candidates must also have demonstrable experience in managing Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) audits.

- LAN/WAN infrastructure knowledge

- Cyber Essentials/Cyber Essentials Plus
- Managing third-party suppliers and contracts
- IT service management (ITSM)
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practice
