Infrastructure Engineer / Security
Infrastructure Engineer / Security
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a strong security focus to support, maintain and enhance secure IT environments. The role combines infrastructure management, cyber security, project delivery and 3rd line support, ensuring systems remain secure, resilient, highly available and compliant.
You will be responsible for maintaining core infrastructure services, implementing system hardening and patching activities, managing vulnerabilities, and supporting access control, identity management and cloud security technologies. The position also involves monitoring security events, investigating incidents, supporting disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and contributing to infrastructure projects, migrations and technology upgrades. Working closely with wider technical teams, you will help embed security best practices across the IT estate and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
To be considered, you should have at least three years' experience within Infrastructure, Cyber Security, DevSecOps or a similar technical role. You will have experience securing cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, alongside a strong understanding of identity and access management, MFA, SSO and privileged access controls. Experience with security technologies including SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management tools is highly desirable, as is hands-on Linux administration, system hardening, patch management and security incident response.
A solid technical background in networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls and VPNs is essential. Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools including Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash, together with knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and recognised security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Benchmarks and ISO 27001, would be advantageous. Strong troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills are also required.
Due to the secure nature of the environment, applicants must be eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) Clearance and be born in an ITAR-compliant country.
