Network & Infrastructure Engineer (Onsite)

Role

We are seeking a highly capable Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join my clients growing team. This is an onsite position suited to someone who thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment and enjoys owning infrastructure from the ground up. You will play a key role in designing, deploying, and managing our core network, server, and cloud services as we continue to scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Deploy and manage Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and related services.
  • Build, configure, and manage virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V) from scratch.
  • Oversee and optimise firewall policies, security rules, and network segmentation.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, security policies, compliance configurations, and identity management.
  • Set up and manage Autopilot devices, Intune enrolment, endpoint policies, and device lifecycle management.
  • Support ongoing infrastructure improvements, system upgrades, and network resilience projects.
  • Troubleshoot complex network, server, and cloud issues in a structured, methodical manner.
  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and continuous service improvement.

Key Skills & Experience

We’re looking for someone with strong, hands-on experience in:

  • Network configuration & design (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs).
  • Firewall management (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, Sophos, Palo Alto – any enterprise-grade experience welcome).
  • Windows Server administration and domain services.
  • Virtualisation platforms (VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Microsoft 365 administration, including security, compliance, and identity configuration.
  • Endpoint and device management via Intune, including Autopilot.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and contribute to a collaborative engineering environment.
