Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Analyst to support the implementation of our new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. This is a pivotal role within our Digital Transformation Programme and will directly contribute to improving patient care, clinical safety, and operational efficiency across the Trust.

You will work closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to analyse current workflows, define future-state processes, and ensure business requirements are clearly captured and translated into system design and configuration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workshops with clinical and operational teams to gather and document business requirements
  • Analyse existing (“as-is”) processes and design improved (“to-be”) workflows aligned to EPR capabilities
  • Produce high-quality documentation including BRDs, functional specifications, process maps, and gap analyses
  • Support system configuration discussions with suppliers and technical teams
  • Ensure requirements are traceable and aligned to programme objectives
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Support testing phases including UAT planning, script development, and defect triage
  • Assist with change impact assessments and business readiness activities
  • Contribute to risk management and issue resolution within the EPR programme

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on large-scale digital transformation projects
  • Experience working on EPR / EMR / PAS implementations within NHS or healthcare settings
  • Strong understanding of clinical and operational workflows in an acute, community, or mental health Trust
  • Experience facilitating workshops with senior clinical stakeholders
  • Skilled in process mapping (e.g., BPMN, Visio)
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Knowledge of NHS data standards, information governance, and clinical safety principles

Desirable:

  • Experience with [Insert EPR system if known – e.g., Epic, Cerner, Oracle Health, System C, Meditech]
  • PRINCE2, Agile, or similar project methodology experience
  • IIBA, BCS BA certification, or equivalent
  • Experience supporting UAT and go-live activities
