Job Title: Remote IFS Technical SME
Location: Fully Remote (UK-based)
Salary: Up to £90,000 + benefits
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced IFS Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a growing team delivering high-quality ERP solutions. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise in IFS with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to guide both technical and functional stakeholders.
You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising IFS solutions, supporting ongoing projects and driving best practices across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority for all things IFS, providing expert guidance across projects and support work
- Design, develop, and customise IFS Applications (Apps 9 / Apps 10 / IFS Cloud)
- Lead technical solution design, integrations, and data migrations
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL, customisations, extensions, and reports
- Support IFS upgrades, patches, and system enhancements
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide scalable solutions
- Collaborate with functional consultants, developers, and business stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to development standards, governance, and best practices
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing
- Work closely with architecture and delivery teams to shape long-term ERP strategy
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with IFS Applications (Apps 9/10 or IFS Cloud)
- Expertise in PL/SQL, Oracle databases, and IFS technical architecture
- Proven experience with integrations (REST APIs, middleware, data migration tools)
- Experience with IFS development tools (Aurena, Lobbies, Reports, Custom Objects, etc.)
- Strong understanding of IFS data structures and business logic
- Experience supporting upgrades and transformations to IFS Cloud (desirable)
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work remotely and autonomously
Desirable Experience
- Experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Energy, or Service Management
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Azure or other cloud platforms
- Previous experience in a consultancy or client-facing role
