Lead Technical Consultant

I am recruiting on behalf of a member of the Epicor Partner Network for an experienced Epicor Technical Lead. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technical delivery, lead a skilled consulting team, and drive high-quality Epicor ERP solutions across a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Technical Delivery & Leadership

• Lead, guide, and develop a team of technical consultants, maintaining high standards of delivery and consistency.
• Take a hands-on role in delivering Epicor ERP technical solutions, including system customisations, BPMs, integrations, and automation initiatives.
• Assume full accountability for solution design, coding, deployment, and the estimation of technical deliverables.
• Build and implement technical solutions using Epicor ERP toolsets, REST APIs, SQL, and associated technologies.
• Conduct code reviews, contribute to development tasks, and provide ongoing direction to the team.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical challenges, offering advanced troubleshooting expertise.

Best Practices & Quality Assurance

• Establish, promote, and enforce standards for coding, release management, and deployment processes.
• Safeguard solution reliability, security, and compliance with internal QA policies.
• Stay informed about new Epicor product releases, identifying enhancements and upgrade opportunities for clients.

Project Delivery & Client Engagement

• Manage and deliver technical workstreams across projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to scope and quality expectations.
• Work collaboratively with functional consultants, project managers, and client stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements.
• Produce precise estimates for effort, duration, and cost of technical tasks.
• Engage in client-facing activities including workshops, progress reviews, and technical discussions.
• Support project planning by managing your own deliverables as well as coordinating workloads across the technical team.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Promote innovation, automation, and continuous improvement in technical delivery.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing through internal documentation, training, and mentoring sessions.
• Coach and support team members to elevate overall delivery standards and technical capability within the practice.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience delivering Epicor ERP technical solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Epicor customisation, BPMs, REST API integration, and SQL development.
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex solutions while leading or mentoring others.
• Skilled in estimating technical workloads and managing delivery commitments.
• Proven experience leading and managing technical teams.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, version control, and release management principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a professional client-facing approach.
• Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
• Degree in a relevant discipline such as Technology, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
