Job Title: Contract NetSuite / Finance Systems Consultant

Location: Hybrid (Remote with occasional on-site North of London)

Contract Length: Initial 6 Months (Time & Materials)

Role Overview

A fast-growing product-based omnichannel retail business is seeking a Contract NetSuite / Finance Systems Consultant to stabilise and improve its finance systems environment following a period of rapid commercial growth.

The organisation operates across Shopify e-commerce and wholesale channels, with NetSuite as the core ERP. Due to rapid scaling, finance operations and system infrastructure now require significant improvement and technical clean-up.

The consultant will work closely with senior finance leadership to address historical data issues, integration challenges, and technical debt within NetSuite, while supporting the implementation of a new middleware platform connecting Shopify and NetSuite.

This role is highly hands-on, requiring someone comfortable working directly within NetSuite to resolve data and configuration issues rather than operating purely at an architectural level.

Key Responsibilities

• Stabilise and improve a complex NetSuite environment supporting multiple legal entities within a single instance.
• Investigate and resolve historical data and integration issues, particularly those caused by legacy Shopify integrations.
• Analyse and resolve NetSuite error logs, data sync issues, and configuration problems.
• Support the implementation of a new middleware integration platform between Shopify and NetSuite.
• Perform data cleansing and data correction activities across transactional and master data.
• Work closely with the integration vendor to ensure accurate and reliable data flows between systems.
• Communicate technical NetSuite issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders within finance and operations.
• Provide broader business systems input where required across adjacent finance tools and platforms.

Key Requirements

• Strong hands-on NetSuite experience, including configuration, troubleshooting, and system issue resolution.
• Demonstrable experience with data cleansing and data migration within NetSuite environments.
• Experience within product-based, inventory-led, or omnichannel businesses, ideally retail or e-commerce.
• Familiarity with Shopify integrations and middleware platforms such as Patchworks, Celigo, or similar iPaaS solutions.
• Ability to work within complex NetSuite environments supporting multiple entities within a single instance.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to translate technical system issues into business context.
• Comfortable operating independently within a lean internal systems team.
• Finance process understanding across P2P, O2C, and R2R is highly desirable.
• Exposure to data warehouse environments such as BigQuery is beneficial but not essential.

Working Arrangement

• Primarily remote engagement with some on-site collaboration requested.
• On-site presence expected approximately once every one to two weeks, though flexible scheduling may be possible.
• Travel expenses for on-site visits may be covered in addition to the day rate.

Contract Structure

• Initial 6-month contract with flexibility around weekly utilisation.
• Engagement operates on a time-and-materials basis, allowing workload to flex depending on project activity.
• Some weeks may require 4–5 days of support, while others may reduce depending on project dependencies.
