AWS Solution Architect
My client are looking for an AWS Solutions Architect to design, deliver, and govern secure, highly automated cloud platforms within complex enterprise and regulated environments. This role has a strong focus on AWS architecture, supported by modern GitOps delivery practices and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
You will play a key role in defining Cloud architecture standards, enabling zero-touch deployments, and supporting cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and architect secure, scalable solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Define and own cloud architecture patterns, standards, and best practices
- Implement and promote GitOps-based delivery models, enabling automated, zero-touch deployments
- Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, with a strong preference for Terraform
- Provide architectural oversight across CI/CD pipelines, cloud networking, identity, and security controls
- Support on-premise to cloud and hybrid migration initiatives
- Collaborate with platform, DevOps, security, and application teams to ensure compliant and resilient solutions
- Produce and maintain high-quality architecture documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, and design diagrams
- Act as a technical authority within security-cleared and regulated environments
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect in enterprise AWS environments
- AWS Solutions Architect certification (Associate required, Professional preferred)
- Strong experience with GitOps principles, focusing on automation and zero-touch pipelines
- GitLab preferred, but tooling-agnostic
- Extensive Infrastructure as Code experience, with a strong preference for Terraform
- Strong understanding of AWS security, IAM, networking, and governance
- Experience delivering solutions in regulated or security-sensitive environments
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Exposure to Amazon EKS and/or OpenShift
- Experience migrating workloads from on-premise to cloud (e.g. OpenShift to EKS)
- Knowledge of supporting infrastructure services such as ingress, observability, and platform tooling
- Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud architectures
