Senior Cyber Security Engineer - GLOBAL DEFENCE ORGANISATION

Location: Preston - Hybrid (1 day/week)

Salary: Approx. £55,000

Clearance Required: SC Level

What you’ll be doing:

• Act as a Security approver for firewall rule requests
• Review and configure security features on firewalls
• Maintain and troubleshoot Atlassian Stack tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Manage user permissions, workflows, and integrations
• Oversee PostgreSQL database maintenance
• Resolve end-user issues and manage ticket queues
• Provide knowledge transfer to colleagues on Atlassian tools
• Collaborate with Cyber Security Engineering team to enhance security architecture

Your skills and experience:

• Experience with Atlassian Stack (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket) installation and maintenance
• Proficient in PostgreSQL troubleshooting
• Solid Linux (RHEL) expertise
• Knowledge of network troubleshooting and firewall architectures (Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco)
• Familiarity with SIEM tools
