Senior Security Engineer (Cloud & Kubernetes)

We’re supporting one of the most ambitious cyber transformation programmes currently underway in the trading technology space.

My client is looking to hire a hands-on Security Engineer to lead key workstreams across Kubernetes and Cloud Security.

This is a rare opportunity to join during a major build phase and take ownership of security engineering initiatives that will shape the firm’s future platform security posture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Securing Kubernetes environments
  • Performing cloud security assessments and remediation
  • Improving CI/CD and software supply chain security
  • Hardening infrastructure-as-code deployments
  • Implementing container and image security controls
  • Working directly with engineering teams on real security improvements

To be successful you will bring:

  • Strong hands-on security engineering experience
  • Background in cloud security, DevSecOps, platform security or infrastructure security
  • Experience with scripting/automation
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, cloud environments, CI/CD or IaC security
  • Engineers who can build, improve and implement, not just advise

Tech exposure

Kubernetes, Terraform, Azure/AWS/GCP, CI/CD, DevSecOps, container security, infrastructure-as-code, cloud architecture, scripting.

This is why you should consider applying:

  • Massive cyber investment programme
  • High ownership role
  • Greenfield security engineering work
  • Opportunity to shape long-term cloud & platform security strategy
  • Strong engineering culture

Traits my client is looking for:

Beyond the technical skillset, the team is looking for engineers who are naturally curious and genuinely enjoy solving difficult technical problems.

The ideal person will:

  • Love tackling complex challenges and figuring things out
  • Enjoy solving puzzles and working through ambiguity
  • Be intellectually curious and constantly looking to improve systems and processes
  • Thrive in environments where not everything is fully defined from day one
  • Be comfortable building, iterating and evolving solutions as projects develop
  • Enjoy thinking creatively and developing innovative solutions to difficult security problems
  • Take ownership and proactively drive improvements rather than waiting for direction

This environment will suit people who enjoy fast-moving engineering cultures, greenfield problem solving, and having real influence over technical direction.

Before applying, please make sure you are comfortable working 5 days per week in London.
