Automation and AI Developer
Power Platform and Automation Developer
Cardiff (Hybrid, 1 to 2 days per week in the office)
£45,000 to £55,000 plus benefits
A well-established and high-performing PR and marketing organisation is embarking on a major digital transformation programme, and we are looking for a Power Platform and Automation Developer to play a key role in shaping it.
This is a brand-new, standalone position where you will have genuine ownership, visibility with senior leadership, and the freedom to set the direction of automation and AI across the business.
About the role
You will be responsible for designing, building and delivering modern Power Apps and automated workflows that replace legacy, spreadsheet-driven processes. Alongside this, you will introduce and embed AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI into day-to-day operations, and integrate systems across HR, Finance, Media and other teams.
You will work directly with the CFO and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, improve processes, and deliver impactful solutions that make a real difference across the organisation.
What you will be doing
- Building Power Apps (canvas and model-driven) to replace manual and Excel-based processes
- Developing automation workflows using Power Automate and Dataverse
- Introducing AI functionality into business processes using Copilot and Azure AI services
- Designing and delivering integrations via API between internal and third-party systems
- Leading automation and optimisation projects from concept to delivery
- Gathering requirements, translating needs into technical solutions, and ensuring successful adoption
- Supporting and training staff to make the most of new tools and workflows
- Ensuring security, data integrity and compliance across all developments
What we are looking for
- Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
- Some JavaScript experience for extending Power Apps functionality
- Understanding of how AI tools can be applied to business processes
- Ability to work with APIs and integrate third-party systems
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder skills
- Someone who enjoys improving processes and building practical, user-friendly solutions
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Deltek Workbook or Staffology is useful but not essential.
Why apply?
- A rare opportunity to build an automation function from the ground up
- Freedom to set the technical direction and shape how AI is used across the organisation
- Direct access to senior leadership and the chance to influence key business decisions
- Greenfield projects with immediate impact
- Collaborative culture with excellent retention
- Flexible hybrid working and commitment to professional development
If you are looking for a role where you can take ownership, deliver meaningful change and work with a supportive leadership team, this is an outstanding opportunity.
