Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Senior Infrastructure EngineerUp to £60k plus bonus and benefitsUK, fully remote with some international travel
Do you want to be the person who owns, shapes and improves an enterprise network rather than passing issues on?
We are hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer into a newly created role with genuine ownership and influence. This is a hands on senior position for someone who wants responsibility, variety and the opportunity to shape how infrastructure is delivered during a period of significant change. This role sits within a global medical device company delivering mobility and post-acute care solutions for people with reduced mobility, operating across the UK and Europe.
This is not a ticket driven support role or a narrow network silo. You will own the network end to end while remaining involved across the wider infrastructure estate.
About the role
The role combines networking and infrastructure responsibilities focusing on someone confident enough to own the network, troubleshoot issues hands on and balance BAU with ongoing projects.
You will be trusted as a senior technical authority with real scope to bring work back in house and improve how infrastructure operates long term.
What you will be doing
Owning the infrastructure network from day one
Leading a multi site SD-WAN rollout
Hands on firewall, VPN and network troubleshooting
Supporting LAN refreshes and infrastructure projects
Assisting with a VMware to Hyper-V migration
Acting as a senior escalation point
Mentoring and supporting other engineers
What we are looking for
Strong networking background with hands on troubleshooting experience
Experience with firewalls, VPNs and SD-WAN
Fortinet experience highly desirable
Broad infrastructure knowledge across servers and virtualisation
Comfortable owning environments and being accountable
Personality and mindset
You will be collaborative, pragmatic and delivery focused. Someone who listens, works well across teams and cultures, and is happy to get hands on when needed. Attitude and cultural fit matter as much as technical skill.
UK based and fully remote
Occasional international travel
If you want ownership, influence and a role that goes beyond support, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
