Senior Marketing Manager
£60,000 - £80,000 + benefits
We're working with a bootstrapped B2B SaaS business in the HR / workforce space, hiring a Senior Marketing Manager to take ownership of their performance and demand generation function.
On paper, this is a Senior Marketing Manager role - but in reality, it's much closer to owning the growth / performance side of a Head of Marketing remit, sitting alongside a newly appointed Head of Brand.
This is an opportunity to step into a business with strong foundations already in place and a clear need to bring structure, consistency and scalability to marketing.
The business- Bootstrapped SaaS - no external investment, so a very commercial, product-led culture
- Focused on sustainable growth and measurable outcomes vs "growth at all costs"
- Established inbound engine already in place (SEO, paid, referrals etc.)
- Operating in a high-volume SMB market (sub-250 employees), with subscription-based deals ranging from a few hundred to ~£10k
You'll take ownership of how marketing performs and is delivered across the business - focusing on pipeline growth, conversion and execution quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning pipeline performance - trials, demos, conversion rates and overall marketing efficiency
- Managing and optimising core channels across digital (SEO, paid, lifecycle, CRM, website)
- Improving conversion across the funnel, getting more from existing demand
- Bringing structure to marketing - campaign planning, delivery cadence, reporting and processes
- Driving consistency and quality across content, campaigns and execution
- Managing a small in-house team (content + marketing exec level)
- Overseeing external partners / agencies where needed
This is a hands-on, commercially focused role - ideal for someone who enjoys both thinking strategically and making things happen day-to-day.
What they're looking for- B2B SaaS or tech marketing experience (ideally SMB / high-volume environments)
- Strong understanding of performance marketing and multi-channel execution
- Experience improving marketing performance and driving pipeline growth
- Comfortable managing people, outputs and external partners
- Organised, structured and able to bring consistency to delivery
- Proactive mindset - someone who takes ownership and drives things forward
- Genuine ownership of a full marketing function (not just a channel role)
- Opportunity to shape and scale a marketing engine with strong existing demand
- High visibility role reporting directly to the co-founder
- Clear progression opportunity as the business continues to grow
- Non-corporate, collaborative culture with real autonomy and trust
Location: York (2 days per week in office)Salary: £60-80k
