Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our expanding Business Data team within Internal Technology. Working closely with the Lead Data Engineer, you will play a vital role in building and delivering our core enterprise data platform using Microsoft Fabric. This position is a perfect blend of high-level stakeholder collaboration and technical, hands-on engineering. You will bridge the gap between business requirements and scalable infrastructure while helping define best practices for the wider team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Platform Engineering: Build and manage a centrally governed data layer that unifies data across core systems like Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, SharePoint, and SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Technical Leadership: Support the Lead Data Engineer in architecting scalable data flows and system integrations to ensure a robust, enterprise-wide ecosystem.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal business units and senior stakeholders to translate operational challenges and reporting needs into technical specifications.
  • Governance & Standards: Help establish processes, security policies, and engineering standards to keep the data platform secure and resilient.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior team members to promote high-quality delivery and excellent ways of working.
What We Are Looking For Required Criteria:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience delivering robust data engineering solutions.
  • The Fabric Ecosystem: Demonstrable, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and Python/PySpark Notebooks.
  • Core Competencies: Proven skill in dimensional modeling, data governance, and data extraction from online platforms via SaaS and APIs.
  • Analytical Mindset: Excellent ability to analyze, manipulate, and interpret complex business and numerical data.
  • Soft Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a delivery-focused, proactive attitude and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable Criteria (Nice-to-Have):
  • Experience with Direct Lake data architectures within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with reporting from major platforms like Dynamics 365, Salesforce, SAP SuccessFactors, or Entra ID.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD patterns and DevOps tooling for automated configuration management.
  • Experience using Logic Apps, Power Platform, Power BI, Power Query, and DAX.
  • Relevant Microsoft Data Platform certifications.
