Front-End Engineer (TypeScript/React)
Front-End Engineer (TypeScript/React)
Hybrid, UK (commutable to the Midlands/Warwickshire)
Permanent - £60K - £90K + benefits
We're a fast-growing UK based SaaS company operating in a regulated finance domain where precision, trust and great UX genuinely matter. Our platform streamlines complex, rules-heavy workflows for real businesses and advisers. The result: fewer headaches, faster decisions, and happier users. Your craft—clean, accessible, performant front ends—will be front and centre of that impact.
Why this role
- Meaningful problem space: Build interfaces for a compliance-heavy financial use case where clarity and correctness are critical.
- Front end at the core: Day-to-day is TypeScript, React, HTML and CSS—you'll set patterns and raise the bar.
- Small, product-led team: Ship iteratively, influence architecture, and see your work in production quickly.
- Modern tooling & autonomy: A pragmatic engineering culture that values simplicity, testing and continuous delivery.
What you'll do
- Build elegant, responsive UIs in TypeScript + React (hooks), using semantic HTML and modern CSS.
- Tackle data-dense screens (tables, forms, validations, accessible flows) with an eye for performance and DX.
- Integrate cleanly with RESTful APIs; own state and data-fetching patterns end-to-end.
- Contribute to a component library/design system and champion accessibility and consistency.
- Maintain quality via code reviews, automated tests (e.g. Jest/React Testing Library) and CI.
- Occasionally collaborate with back-end engineers (Java/Spring Boot) to shape contracts and improve DX.
What you'll bring
- Solid commercial experience with TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS.
- Strong grasp of state management and data-fetching (e.g. React Query/Zustand/Redux).
- A product mindset: you care about UX details, accessibility and measurable performance.
- Clear, considerate communication and a habit of writing tidy, testable code.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Java/Spring Boot, SQL or API design.
- Experience with Storybook/design systems; build tools (Vite/Webpack).
- Familiarity with Docker and cloud environments.
How we work
- Hybrid and flexible: Home based with occasional collaboration in the Midlands.
- Lightweight Agile, sensible processes, and continuous improvement.
- Human-centred, engineering-led culture—no drama, just good software.
What's on offer
- Competitive salary and benefits.
- Scope to shape front-end standards, tooling and accessibility from the ground up.
- Growth opportunities as the product and team scale.
