Location: UK-based. Remote considered for exceptional candidates.
Contract: Full-time, permanent
About Imaginae
Imaginae is an AI-native studio from Fremantle. We produce work that couldn't have been made before; short-form and long-form film and television in which generative AI is not a cost-saving shortcut but the reason the work exists – AI native IP.
We're hiring an AI Artist to bring continuous production capacity in-house. You will be the person who turns a brief into finished film or TV, working as a creative across Imaginae's slate.
The Role
You will primarily produce generative AI-led film and video across Imaginae's in-house IP. This is a hands on role across image, video, audio, and post. You'll work under the Creative Director's editorial direction, in close collaboration with our Creative Technologist on the craft and technical questions that shape each project, and as a creative voice in the room as the work develops.
What you'll actually do
- Take approved projects from treatment to finished delivery, working to a brief from the Creative Director.
- Operate across current-generation generative video, image, audio, and workflow tooling (e.g. Veo, Runway, Seedance, ComfyUI, ElevenLabs, Topaz) - adapting quickly as the landscape evolves.
- Integrate generative output with conventional finishing and editing in After Effects, Premiere, Resolve, and where required Blender or Unreal.
- Maintain character, style, and environment consistency across episodic and serialised work.
- Contribute to Imaginae's house aesthetic - executing it at a level that defines it.
- Collaborate with external AI filmmakers we commission, sharing techniques and contributing craft where useful.
- Be on the tools daily.
What we're looking for
Non-negotiable:
- A body of completed generative AI film or video work where you were the primary maker. We will watch it. Reel quality is the single most important factor in this hire.
- Demonstrable command of current generative video and image pipelines, including the practical realities of consistency, control, finishing, and sound.
- Production velocity. Evidence that you can consistently take work from concept to finished delivery without sacrificing craft.
- A real eye - composition, pacing, performance, sound. Strong instincts around narrative, tone, and emotional continuity across sequences. We are not hiring prompt-craft. We are hiring filmmaking instinct expressed through these tools.
- Comfort working to someone else's creative direction without losing your own standards.
Strongly preferred:
- Background in TV, film, motion design, VFX, animation, advertising, music video, or short-form - with the move into generative tools as a deliberate creative choice rather than a pivot.
- Familiarity with node-based and agentic AI workflows.
- Experience working inside a small team where roles flex.
- Demonstrable interest in the formal possibilities of the medium - what generative AI lets us do that nothing else does - rather than using it to simply imitate live action.
Nice to have:
- Working knowledge of Blender, Unreal Engine, or Houdini.
- Light scripting (Python, GLSL, or equivalent).
Not for you if:
- Your portfolio is mostly prompt-craft experiments without finished films behind them.
- You prefer long exploratory development cycles over fast-paced production environments.
What success looks like in 12 months
- Delivered multiple pieces of finished AI-native film/TV work to production standard.
- Helped shape repeatable visual and technical workflows for the studio.
- Contributed materially to Imaginae’s evolving aesthetic language.
- Collaborated effectively with external filmmakers and internal creative leadership.
Why Imaginae
This is a permanent role inside a fully resourced studio with global distribution through Fremantle, RTL, and Bertelsmann, meaning the work reaches audiences, not just festivals and feeds. You will work on IP with real budgets and clean rights. We commission external AI filmmakers as well, but this role is for someone who wants their best work to come out under one studio's name over time.
How to apply
Please submit your CV with a portfolio link. As a follow up, we will ask selected candidates to submit a reel (max 5 minutes, your work, your role identified clearly).
