About the Role
A fast-growing Tech4Good organisation is searching for a seasoned technology leader to spearhead its digital evolution. This executive position is crucial to shaping the technical direction, enhancing platform capabilities, and embedding a culture of innovation and engineering excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a long-term technical vision in sync with broader business objectives
- Lead multidisciplinary teams (engineering, QA, infrastructure, and data), totalling approximately 15–20 professionals
- Overhaul legacy systems with an emphasis on APIs, cloud-native solutions (primarily in Azure), and automated data workflows
- Introduce Agile methodologies and continuous delivery practices to accelerate product cycles and improve platform robustness
- Launch and oversee initiatives involving AI and machine learning for both operational efficiencies and customer-facing features
- Drive improvements in user experience, accessibility standards, and design responsiveness
- Attract, support, and retain top-tier technical talent while fostering internal career progression
- Represent the technology function in senior leadership meetings and board-level planning, translating strategic priorities into execution plans
- Manage spend across infrastructure, tooling, and external vendor integrations (such as widely used school MIS platforms)
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Over a decade of experience in software development, including substantial time in senior or executive leadership roles
- Background in SaaS or data-centric platforms, ideally within analytics sectors
- Deep understanding of the .NET ecosystem, modern front-end technologies (e.g. React), and scalable cloud platforms
- Practical experience setting up robust CI/CD pipelines and automated quality assurance frameworks
- Exposure to applying artificial intelligence or machine learning within operational or product contexts
- Strong communication abilities to engage across technical, commercial stakeholders
- Strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves when needed
