IT PMO Analyst

Location: Hybrid in London 3 days a week

Contract: rolling 6 month contract (FTC only)

Salary: £60,000- £75,000

Role Purpose

Provide structured portfolio level support across a complex IT change landscape, including merger related activity, supporting the IT PMO Manager and working closely with Programme Managers and Project Managers. The role supports effective governance, reporting, and performance management across a portfolio comprising multiple programmes and interdependent projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day to day operation of the IT PMO across a portfolio of IT programmes, each comprising multiple interrelated projects.
  • Maintain and assure core portfolio and programme artefacts, including plans, RAID logs, dependency tracking, action trackers, and status reports.
  • Coordinate and support portfolio level governance activities, including preparation of materials for programme boards, steering groups, and IT leadership forums.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and timely portfolio reporting, collating inputs from programmes and projects, and highlighting trends, risks, and key delivery insights.
  • Support financial tracking at programme and portfolio level, including forecast versus actuals and alignment with Finance where required.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve PMO standards, templates, and reporting packs to promote consistency and quality across IT delivery.
  • Provide portfolio analysis and insight, identifying cross programme risks, dependencies, capacity pressures, and delivery trends.
  • Maintain PMO documentation repositories, ensuring information is well structured, version controlled, and easily accessible.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience working in a PMO or portfolio support role within an IT environment.
  • Experience supporting programmes and or portfolios with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong understanding of PMO practices, governance, and reporting within IT delivery.
  • Experience producing portfolio level reporting and insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience using PPM tools and structured project management tooling such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Relevant PMO or project management certifications, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience delivering within merger or acquisition integration programmes desirable but not required.
  • Experience within legal, financial, or professional services environments desirable but not required.
