Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Manchester Area)

The Company

Here at Lorien we’re working in partnership with a client based in Manchester. With continued growth across the business, looking to spread their operations into emerging markets in Africa and North America. This role is very similar to an Infrastructure Engineer posting we have, however seeking someone who has more experience in the below areas.

The Role

Your role is to work in the Operations team to develop and refresh the Infrastructure Operations which span the international platform. In this role you’ll be heavily involved with various projects which cover the online platform and retail estate.

As the senior in the team, you’ll be working closely with the architects to understand what the project pipeline needs are and ensure the implementation of those changes. Additional responsibilities include mentorship and guidance of other team members who are less experienced.

The Skills

• We’re looking for candidates who have a strong blend of the following skills: Solid background with Windows OS (2016 and later)
• Good understanding of Linux (Any variety)
• Strong background in Windows Server (Active Directory/ DNS/ DHCP/ etc.)
• Experience managing hyperconverged infrastructure (VMware)
• Familiarity and an understanding of Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/ Azure/ GCP)
• Server Hardware Builds (HP/ IBM/ Dell)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
